Product Audit

You Already Know Something’s Wrong. Let’s Find Out What It Actually Is.

A structured diagnostic of your product — what's working, what's broken, and what’s being misread as a growth problem when it’s actually a product problem.

The Problem

The data exists.
The problem
is interpretation.

Most founders run user interviews. Look at heatmaps. Read churn reports. Hold retrospectives. And still can’t pinpoint why the product isn’t converting the way it should.

And the cost of misreading it is another quarter of fixes that don’t move the number — while the actual problem sits untouched, compounding quietly.

A product audit doesn’t find new problems. It tells you which of the problems you already suspect are actually the ones that matter — and in what order to fix them.

User interviews
Lots of opinions, no clarity.
Heatmaps
Show where, not why.
Churn reports
Show the outcome, not the cause.
Retrospectives
Look backward, not forward.
Data everywhere
But no single source of truth.
The Cost

Another quarter of fixes that don’t move the number — while the real issue compounds quietly.

What This Is

A full diagnostic.
From entry to retention.

A Product Audit is a full diagnostic of your product from entry to activation to retention. We go through every layer: user flows, feature logic, onboarding sequences, conversion points, and competitive product positioning.

What comes out the other side is a clear, sequenced report — not a dump of observations, but a prioritised action list with the reasoning behind every call.

You'll know
what to fix.
You'll know
why.
You'll know
what order to do it in.
User Flows How users move from first touch to retention.
Feature Logic Do features create value in the right sequence?
Onboarding How users experience their first 7 minutes and first 7 days.
Conversion Points Where intent turns into action — or drops off.
Competitive Positioning How you compare, where you win, where you don't.
Audit Output
Clarity What's working and what's not.
Priority What to fix and in what order.
Confidence Decisions backed by evidence and reasoning.
Objective Review No assumptions. No internal bias.
Data + Context Numbers plus the reason behind them.
Sequenced Actions Prioritised by impact, not by ease.
Business Impact Every recommendation ties back to outcomes.
Founder Lens We think like operators, not analysts.

What's In Scope

A comprehensive audit across every layer that matters.

We don't just look at symptoms. We map the system, test the logic, benchmark the market, and prioritise what will actually move the numbers.

01

User Experience Layer

  • End-to-end user journey mapping — every step from first touch to activation
  • Drop-off analysis — where users leave, at which stage, and likely why
  • Onboarding audit — first 7 minutes and first 7 days
  • Navigation and information architecture review
02

Product Logic Layer

  • Feature-to-value mapping — are the right features visible at the right moments?
  • Feature prioritisation audit — what exists versus what should exist
  • Core loop analysis — is the product's retention mechanism clearly built?
  • UX friction inventory — every point of unnecessary resistance
03

Competitive Layer

  • Benchmarking against 3–5 direct competitors
  • Feature gap analysis
  • Positioning differentiation — where the product is distinctive and where it isn't
04

Output Layer

  • Friction severity matrix — issues ranked by impact, not just presence
  • Prioritised action list — sequenced by business impact, not development ease
  • Quick-win identification — what can be fixed in the next 2 weeks vs. next quarter
The Outcome

Clarity on what's broken, why it matters, and what to do about it — in order.

Find the real issues Not just surface-level symptoms.
Prioritise by impact What will move the numbers, first.
Take action with confidence Sequenced, practical, and actionable.
Drive measurable outcomes Every recommendation ties back to impact.

How It Works

A rigorous process.
No shortcuts. No guesswork.

We follow a proven diagnostic process to ensure nothing important is missed and every recommendation is grounded in evidence.

Step 1

Intake

You share access to the live product, analytics dashboard, and any existing user research. We align on audit scope and timeline.

Step 2

Audit

We go through the product systematically across all dimensions — UX, product logic, onboarding, feature mapping, competitive benchmarking. This takes the time it takes. We don't rush a diagnostic.

Step 3

Synthesis

Findings are consolidated, prioritised, and framed with reasoning. Every recommendation comes with a “why this, why now” — not just a list.

Step 4

Delivery

You receive the full audit report. We walk through it together in a structured session — findings, priorities, questions.

Step 5

Handoff

You leave with a prioritised action list your team can execute from immediately. No translation layer required.

Our Approach

We audit with objectivity.
We report with clarity.

Evidence over assumptions
Business impact over opinions
Clarity over complexity
Actionability over information

You don’t get a slide deck. You get a comprehensive, practical audit report and everything your team needs to move forward with confidence.

Who This Is For

This audit is for founders and teams
at a specific inflection point.

Not too early. Not too late.

Who This Is For
Founders whose product exists but conversion is consistently lower than expected.
Teams that have shipped multiple updates without moving key metrics.
Anyone who has been told it's a marketing problem but suspects it's a product problem.
Products approaching a funding round that need to demonstrate product-market clarity.
Who This Is Not For
Pre-product founders there's nothing to audit yet.
Founders who want validation that what they've built is correct.
Teams that aren't in a position to act on findings within 30 days — an audit that sits unread is an expensive document.
!

This is a working document, not a trophy.
If you're not ready to act, wait.

The Promise

You leave knowing what deserves attention now, what can wait, and why.

No more guessing. Clarity over noise.
1 2 3
No more scattered fixes. Priorities over opinions.
No more wasted quarters. Impact over activity.
No more misalignment. Direction over debate.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.
Straight answers.

Everything you need to know before you get started.

What exactly is a Product Audit?
A Product Audit is a comprehensive diagnostic of your product across experience, logic, execution, and market position. We identify what's working, what's not, and what to prioritise to drive measurable impact.
How long does the audit take?
Typically 2–6 weeks from intake to delivery, depending on product complexity and the volume of existing data you're able to share.
Do you need access to our codebase?
No. We audit the live product, analytics, and any existing user research. What's visible to users is what we audit.
We've already done an internal audit. Does that change anything?
Bring it. An internal audit and an external diagnostic almost always surface different things. Internal audits are limited by proximity — you're too close to the product to see certain things clearly. We'll tell you what you missed.
Is this just a UX review?
No. UX is one layer. We also audit product logic, feature sequencing, core loop mechanics, onboarding, and competitive positioning. This is a full product diagnostic, not a design critique.
What happens after the audit?
You have a prioritised action list. You execute with your team. If you want the strategic layer that comes next — GTM, systems, brand — those are available as standalone engagements or as part of Blueprint.
